About the Lodge

Staying at Lake Burunge Baobab South Lodge

Lake Burunge Baobab South Lodge stands on a 300-acre private property at Mwada, on the shores of Lake Burunge, with a giant baobab tree rising above its thatched main lodge. It is a 20-minute drive from the main entrance of Tarangire National Park, 19 km from Tarangire's Sangaiwe Gate and 35 km from Lake Manyara National Park, making it an excellent base for game drives in both parks.

The lodge has 30 rooms: 20 spacious tents raised on wooden decks, and 10 bungalows, each with a king-size bed and a queen-size bed, ideal for families travelling together. Every room has air conditioning, a fan and an en-suite bathroom, a welcome touch after a hot day in the bush.

The restaurant and lounge sit on an elevated wooden platform with 360-degree views over the lake, and a 25-metre swimming pool is the perfect place to cool off between safaris. Evenings end around the campfire, and guests can take guided nature walks down to the lakeshore or enjoy sundowners as the sun sets over the water. The lodge is open all year, welcomes children and is run on full board.
