About the Lodge

Staying at Gnus Lair

Gnus Lair is a seasonal tented camp in the Kogatende area of the northern Serengeti, just ten minutes from the Mara River. It is set up for the Great Migration: from July the herds arrive in the north, and the camp puts guests within easy reach of the river crossings, the most dramatic moments of the migration year.

There are only eight raised tented suites, each sleeping up to three guests, with king or twin beds and an en-suite bathroom with indoor and outdoor showers. The camp has a main lounge and dining area, Wi-Fi, massage and a small gym.

Days revolve around migration-led game drives in open safari vehicles across the plains, river valleys and rocky outcrops of the north, with bush dining and sundowners in between. Gnus Lair pairs naturally with its sister camp Jackals Lair in the central Serengeti.
