Staying at Mara Under Canvas
Mara Under Canvas is a seasonal tented camp in the Kogatende area of the northern Serengeti, just south of the Mara River and about ten minutes from Kogatende airstrip. It opens from June to November, when the Great Migration is in the north, so guests can witness the herds and the Mara River crossings almost from the doorstep.
The camp has ten spacious double tents and a family tent, each with king-size or twin beds and an en-suite with a flush toilet, hand basin and bucket shower. Lighting is solar powered, and meals are served in a classic mess tent beside a relaxed lounge tent.
Days are spent on guided game drives into the heart of the migration and predator action. The best time to stay is July to October, the peak of the river crossings.
